VMC Products for Health- Yogourmet Yogurt Maker Review and Giveaway

"Founded in 1969 VMC Products for Health Inc., is one of the pioneer companies in the health food industry.  We introduced the first electric yogurt maker for home use in the United States in 1970. Since then, VMC has added various electric and non-electric yogurt makers, accessories for the yogurt makers, yogurt starters, kefir starter, and cheese starters under the "Yogourmet" name."

I have always been a big fan of "homemade" food. Haven't you ever noticed how it just tastes better? You don't have to guess where it's been and how it's been made. Just yesterday I went out to a local steakhouse in my area and I'm pretty sure the lettuce in my salad still had ice chunks on it! My first job was working at a fast food restaurant, and I won't tell you how many "procedures" we were told to bypass for the sake of time.
Now that I have a Yogourmet electric yogurt maker, buying yogurt at the store is one less thing I have to worry about!

This yogurt maker is amazing! It comes with everything you need to make your own homemade yogurt.
This Yogourmet Multi system includes:
  • The Electric yogurt maker
  • 2 quarts capacity inner container with seal-tight lid (To make this even better, it's made of food grade plastic and dishwasher safe!)
  • Precision thermometer
  • Cotton bag, used for the yogurt cheese strainer
  • Full instructions not only in English, but also in Spanish and French
  • It also comes with a one year factory warranty!

Now, if you're like me, making or cooking homemade food isn't "in the cards" for you. In fact, I admit I'm not the world's greatest chef...but with this yogurt maker, I can make tasty homemade yogurt with ease!
 Here are the easy steps:
  1. Pour 2 quarts of milk into a double boiler, pot, or casserole dish. (For me, it was a pot, but they say the double boiler is best. ) Heat for one or two minutes at 82 degrees Celsius (or if you're like me and not too handy doing too many things at once, just wait for the milk to boil.)
  2. Allow the milk to cool to between 42-44 degrees Celsius. I filled a sink with cold water and placed the pot in that to help speed up the process. Then you take the inner batch container out of the yogurt maker and pour the cooled milk into it.
  3. Next, add lukewarm water to the level of one of the marks inside your Yogourmet maker and plug in your maker, making sure the red light is on. If you're only making one quart, add the water to the first line, or the second line for two quarts.
  4. After that, pour one package of the starter (I used the Pro biotic Yogurt Starter ) into a cup and gradually add five or six tbls. of the cooled milk. Once the starter is completely dissolved, empty the balance of the cooled milk in the batch container and stir. (They say to mix it extra well).

Now, all you have to do is cover the batch container with it's lid, slip it into the yogurt maker, and place the cover on the yogurt maker. After four to four and a half hours (4-4 1/2), take the bath container out of the yogurt maker and stick it in your fridge. Let it chill for about 8 hours and serve!
Now, since I don't have any kids and I don't eat yogurt everyday, I found it nice to know that it will stay fresh in your fridge for up to 3 weeks!

Anthony Morrison Hair Care Review and Giveaway

“My intention has always been to provide ease, balance, grace and style to my clients. My weightless moisture collection does just that. I am achieving a life-long goal and it is an amazing feeling. To be able to give back to the people who matter most—my clients— and to provide products that speak specifically to their needs is tremendously exciting for me.”

– Anthony Morrison

As you all who read my blog know by now, I love using all the different hair care products there are out there to try! Many of you have probably heard the name Anthony Morrison as the winner of season 1 from the Bravo TV show Shear Genius. I had no idea that he had created a hair care line, so I was so excited when I learned I'd be able to try the products.

I got to try out a few products from the Anthony Morrison Smooth Set.

Let me just say first off, that these products worked for me just like they say! They make my hair feel so moisturized, weightless and refined without making it feel heavy, greasy, or flat.

The shampoo gives my hair a great lather. I don't feel like I have to use huge amounts of HydraCleanse shampoo to get my hair feeling clean. After using the shampoo, I used the HydraNorish Conditioner and then the HydraRestore Masque. Now, I'm not sure if it was the conditioner, or the masque or the combination of both, but my hair has never felt healthier.

Even though I know straightening your hair is really bad, I love how it makes my hair look so sleek and refined. Now, with Anthony Morrison's HydraCreme, I don't have to feel as guilty. Since I have to straighten my hair in sections, I rub a little of this creme on every section beforehand. The creme has these amazing beads that will moisturize and protect your hair when they feel heat. Since using this creme (and the other products), I have yet to find a split end. After straightening my hair, I finish it off with the HydraLock Serum to keep all the flyaways down and my hair looking perfect through the whole day. If I want to add a little more volume through the day, I simply spray with the HydraBoost Spray.

Be sure to check Anthony Morrison out on the NBC Store!

Possession by Rene Gutteridge

I'm a huge mystery novel fan. I love trying to figure out what happens in the book before I read it. This book is great and keeps a steady pace. I hate books that take so long to explain things or drag out each and every plot. This book kept me going until the very end. I loved reading this book, too, because I don't have to worry about anything bad. It has thrill without being too graphic and watches the language. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery or thrill.

*Special thanks to Tyndale House Publishers for sending me a copy of this book to review. I was paid in no way for a good review. This is solely based on my own personal opinion.

Nozin Review and Giveaway

NOZIN- Defense That Makes Sense!

"Nozin Nasal Sanitizer antiseptic has a patented formula with natural moisturizers to provide advanced hygiene for the nose, a chief entry point for many germs. Works at the nose where it's needed most™. Helps reduce the risk of infection. Highly effective and safe. Can be part of daily hygiene. Also use for a smart defense in planes, school, offices, gyms, theaters. Apply with swab to front area of nose. Clean, fresh citrus scent! Natural and zinc-free. Satisfaction Guaranteed."

Because I work at a bank, I'm constantly putting hand sanitizer on my hands to keep me as "germ-free" as possible. Despite that, I got a sinus infection already this winter! I'm wishing now I would've heard of Nozin sooner! I received the Nozin sanitizing swabs to review and I love them!

Each "swab" comes in it's own little capsule full of ingredients to keep your nose 99.99% germ-free! After applying Nozin to my nose, I don't have to worry about breathing in all those harmful germs and becoming sick again. Using Nozin is easy, too! All you have to do is "Flip the capsule" (and shake it), "pop the tube", and "swab" the applicator in a circular motion around your nose. It lasts 8 hours and leaves your nose feeling moisturized and even has an amazing "citrus" scent.

You can buy your own Nozin on their website or on amazon.

Eye Candy Soothing Coolers Review and Giveaway

I've always worried about the dark circles and lines under my eyes. Because I'm extremely pale-skinned, my dark eyes stick out like a sore thumb and I'm always trying to make them look their best.

When I heard of Eye Candy Coolers, I couldn't wait to try them out!
They looked so fun and easy to use.

When I got my Classic Chillin' Cucumber eye candy coolers, I couldn't wait to try them on! I placed them right in my fridge and waited patiently until the next night when I could use them. When I tried them on, I had a weird sensation on my eyes. It felt like my skin was tightening and it actually made my eyes feel more awake. After wearing them for a few nights in a row, it actually appeared that the dark circles under my eyes were lightening and my eyes gradually felt more awake and tight. I can't wait to use these when my girlfriends come over for a "sleepover". These eye candy coolers are such an awesome, inexpensive way to pamper yourself for a few minutes at home.
