We all love to sleep, or at least I know, I do! I love jumping into the covers at night, laying my head on my pillow and being about to doze off into a nice dream. Sometimes though, no matter how tired I am, I can't seem to get my thoughts to quiet down. I've taken "PM" pills before to help me sleep, but I hate the drowsiness I sometimes feel the next morning. I've also tried the "pillow mist", which is nice, but leaves my pillow feeling moist and sometimes can cause my face to break out.

I was contacted by Sleep Scentsations to review four of their scented pillow liners: "day at the beach", "white tea and lily", "ginger and amber", and "restore". Since I love the beach so much, I decided to use that liner for my pillow. The liners are very easy to use. You simply pull the liner off the pad and place it on your pillow. The smell is just strong enough to help you get to sleep, but it didn't keep me awake at all. In fact, I felt like I was staying the night in a spa! The liner usually lasts a little under a week, and then you simply put a new liner on. These would go perfect in any "spa gift basket" or for an upcoming Mother's Day gift. As I'm sure you all know by now, I'm a HUGE candle lover. I could go on and on about how I love to smell different candles and find out how each one is unique not only in it's scent, but also in it's design and make. When Modern Light Candles contacted me to review one of their 100% pure soy wax candles, of course, I said "Yes!" They had so many amazing scents to choose from too:

I live in West Virginia and I love the smell of Spring. I love it when it rains and the grass has just been cut. This candles reminds me just of that. It has this amazing scent that makes me long for Spring to get here even faster.

Well, not all the time, but when I do clean, I want to know I'm using the best stuff possible for the task at hand.

I'm using this scrubby/sponge in my kitchen. It's safe on non-stick surfaces, dishwasher safe, and has been antimicrobial treated to help prevent decay, odor, or stains on the scrubby.

I used these wipes to gently clean off dust and dirt from some of the items in my china cabinet.

This scrubby/ sponge is great for cleaning just about anything! I cleaned my bathtub with this and it's never looked cleaner! Another awesome thing is that it's dishwasher safe and antimicrobial treated.

Bondi Band Review and Giveaway

The Idea

I'm definitely a runner. I'm not very good at sports or at weight lifting, but I love to run. Running always has a way of clearing my head and de-stressing my life. One problem I've had when I run is that my headband will start slowly sliding back and eventually I'll have to take it off and slide it back on, only to have the process start over again. I also noticed too that when I finally get back home and take my headband off, I'll have a nice "ring" on my hair where the band has been.

This is the type of band I was using before I found bondi bands! Like I said before, this band would always slip and slide off my head and leave the "lovely" ring on my head.

And THIS is the wicking ponytail hat I received from bondi band. I love running with this hat on. It leaves plenty of room for my ponytail but still keeps a nice grip on my head. I didn't have to adjust it once when I was wearing it! The material is also so smooth, flexible, and breathable.

I am also one of those people who have those pesky "fly-away" hairs around my forehead. I'm always conscious about how curly and wavy their getting when I'm running, especially if it's raining. Now, with my bondi band hat, I don't have to worry about the fly-aways.

Sarris Candies Review and Giveaway

When I tried my first chocolate covered pretzel, I instantly loved how it melted in my mouth! It tasted so yummy that I soon found myself eating the whole container. I loved them so much I gave some to my family so they could try them.

Verve, Inc., Glee Gum and Make Your Own Candy Kits Review and Giveaway

I'm a huge fan of junk food. I know it's not the best for me, but every once in awhile it's great to treat myself. Two of my favorite candies are chewing gum and gummies.

When the glee gum came in the mail, I couldn't wait to try it out. The glee gum was like little packets of flavor. The flavors varied from triple berry, to bubble gum, to tangerine. Now, some gums that I've tried have lost their "chewiness" over time, but I noticed that glee gum kept it's chew for a long time.

The other product I received was one of their Make Your Own Candy Kits. They have kits to make your own chocolate, bubble gum, and gummies. Because I'm such a huge gummy fan, I thought the Make Your Own Gummy Kit would be fun and educational.

Since I don't have kids of my own I asked my nephew, Dustyn, to come over one night and help me make gummies. Since he's six, this was right up his alley and he was more than excited to make gummies. When we took everything out of the box, it was nice to see that everything was organized and had easy steps to follow. The steps were also very kid friendly and it was nice to let Dustyn do most the work. The look on his face when we were making the gummies said it all to me. He was so excited and loved every minute of it. The kit comes with molding starch so you get to choose what kind of gummies to make, which I thought was so neat. Because I couldn't find any items to make the molds, I thought it would be fun for Dustyn to use his hand as one. That had to have been one of the best ideas for a mold. He loved putting his hand in the molding starch and then putting the gummy mixer over it. You have to put the gummies in the refrigerator for ten minutes after you make them and Dustyn couldn't wait for that ten minutes to be up so he could eat his gummy hand. If you like sour gummies, there is even a bag of sour sugar to sprinkle over your gummies. I'm sure the other candy kits are just as fun!

I have always been a big fan of "homemade" food. Haven't you ever noticed how it just tastes better? You don't have to guess where it's been and how it's been made. Just yesterday I went out to a local steakhouse in my area and I'm pretty sure the lettuce in my salad still had ice chunks on it! My first job was working at a fast food restaurant, and I won't tell you how many "procedures" we were told to bypass for the sake of time.

Now that I have a Yogourmet electric yogurt maker, buying yogurt at the store is one less thing I have to worry about!

This yogurt maker is amazing! It comes with everything you need to make your own homemade yogurt.

Now, if you're like me, making or cooking homemade food isn't "in the cards" for you. In fact, I admit I'm not the world's greatest chef...but with this yogurt maker, I can make tasty homemade yogurt with ease!

Here are the easy steps:

Pour 2 quarts of milk into a double boiler, pot, or casserole dish. (For me, it was a pot, but they say the double boiler is best. ) Heat for one or two minutes at 82 degrees Celsius (or if you're like me and not too handy doing too many things at once, just wait for the milk to boil.)
Allow the milk to cool to between 42-44 degrees Celsius. I filled a sink with cold water and placed the pot in that to help speed up the process. Then you take the inner batch container out of the yogurt maker and pour the cooled milk into it.
Next, add lukewarm water to the level of one of the marks inside your Yogourmet maker and plug in your maker, making sure the red light is on. If you're only making one quart, add the water to the first line, or the second line for two quarts.
After that, pour one package of the starter (I used the Pro biotic Yogurt Starter ) into a cup and gradually add five or six tbls. of the cooled milk. Once the starter is completely dissolved, empty the balance of the cooled milk in the batch container and stir. (They say to mix it extra well).

Now, all you have to do is cover the batch container with it's lid, slip it into the yogurt maker, and place the cover on the yogurt maker. After four to four and a half hours (4-4 1/2), take the bath container out of the yogurt maker and stick it in your fridge. Let it chill for about 8 hours and serve!
Now, since I don't have any kids and I don't eat yogurt everyday, I found it nice to know that it will stay fresh in your fridge for up to 3 weeks!

I received the HydraCleanse Shampoo, HydraNorish Conditioner, HydraLock Serum, HydraBoost Spray, HydraSmooth Creme, and the HydraRestore Masque.

Let me just say first off, that these products worked for me just like they say! They make my hair feel so moisturized, weightless and refined without making it feel heavy, greasy, or flat.

The shampoo gives my hair a great lather. I don't feel like I have to use huge amounts of HydraCleanse shampoo to get my hair feeling clean. After using the shampoo, I used the HydraNorish Conditioner and then the HydraRestore Masque. Now, I'm not sure if it was the conditioner, or the masque or the combination of both, but my hair has never felt healthier.

Even though I know straightening your hair is really bad, I love how it makes my hair look so sleek and refined. Now, with Anthony Morrison's HydraCreme, I don't have to feel as guilty. Since I have to straighten my hair in sections, I rub a little of this creme on every section beforehand. The creme has these amazing beads that will moisturize and protect your hair when they feel heat. Since using this creme (and the other products), I have yet to find a split end. After straightening my hair, I finish it off with the HydraLock Serum to keep all the flyaways down and my hair looking perfect through the whole day. If I want to add a little more volume through the day, I simply spray with the HydraBoost Spray.

I'm a huge mystery novel fan. I love trying to figure out what happens in the book before I read it. This book is great and keeps a steady pace. I hate books that take so long to explain things or drag out each and every plot. This book kept me going until the very end. I loved reading this book, too, because I don't have to worry about anything bad. It has thrill without being too graphic and watches the language. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery or thrill.

I've always worried about the dark circles and lines under my eyes. Because I'm extremely pale-skinned, my dark eyes stick out like a sore thumb and I'm always trying to make them look their best.

As you all probably know, I'm a huge candle lover. I love all the different scents each unique candle creates and how each candle looks. I love all the different wax colors, labels and candle holders.

I decided to take a nice, warm bath after work one night and decided to light my new candle then. It made my bathroom smell just like a spa. It made me feel extra pampered and relaxed. This candle is simply amazing. You really have to try it for yourself!

I loved using this vanilla! It smells so good and I could tell it was quality made. I made Christmas cookies with this vanilla and they turned out amazingly. I hoping to try out one of their great recipes here in the future and see what other creations this vanilla can make! When I run out of vanilla, I'm going to be sure and buy my vanilla from Nielsen-Massey.

The Art of Shaving Review

If your significant other is anything like mine, it's a constant battle to get him to shave on a regular basis. My boyfriend, Sam, doesn't shave as often as I'd like him to and when I do ask him to shave, it doesn't end up occurring until a few days later. His excuse is always "I don't have time" or "I'm out of that shaving cream I love". Well, when I received the Art of Shaving starter kit, I couldn't wait for him to try it out! Of course, his reply was that he wanted to wait a few days for his stubble to grow out a little while, so I patiently waited.

Pillsbury Toaster Strudels Giveaway

Now that it's getting colder outside, my daily routine has changed a little bit. I always go outside and start my car a few minutes before I leave so it's nice and warm. Now, before I go outside, I grab a toaster strudel out of the freezer, pop it in my toaster, and by the time I'm back inside, breakfast is served! It only takes a few minutes for the toaster strudel to get nice and warm and the extra icing on top is the "icing the cake" no pun intended.

I love candles. It always feels so great to come home after a long day of work, start a warm, bubble bath and light a soothing candle. When I found Votivo luxury candles online, I couldn't wait to review them. They looked both elegant and sophisticated.

I received both the Christmas Sage and the Joie De Noel candle to review.

8.5 oz; Burns 50-60 hours

These candles are amazing. As soon as I opened the package that they arrived in, I could smell the candles. They came in their own stylish box that make them appear extremely expensive. After lifting the top of the box off the candle, I noticed it was wrapped in tissue paper. It looked so beautiful I didn't want to unwrap it! Once I did twist the tissue paper off, the first thing I noticed was luminous holder keeping the candle in place. It felt sturdy and had a great reflection

Both the Christmas Sage and Joie De Noel candles smell so incredible. They each give off their own signature scent and as soon as I walked into my bedroom where I had one lite, I could smell the difference. These candles would be a great Christmas gift for anyone to have! Whether it be in their home or office.

I'm a bit of a procrastinator when it comes to putting up my Christmas decorations and tree. When I do get the free moment to put all the decorations up, I don't have the time to go out and find a real tree so I just put up my artificial one.

Growing up, my family and I would also go out and buy our tree at the local tree farm. I remember loving the smell the tree gave off, but hating all the mess of the needles and constantly having to water the tree. Now that I just use an artificial tree, I miss the beautiful aroma that a real tree gives off.

When you are ready to use the bin, all you have to do is pick it up and push it towards the floor. The two slim, metal sticks snap into place with a quick push and keep the fling bin upright. The fling bins are leak-proof and are as big as 13 gallon tall kitchen bags. I also liked the fact that when my fling bin was full, all I had to do was lift the extra plastic that hangs down and use the attached drawstring to tie it up. It really IS as easy as "Pop It! Sometimes, I come across the problem of my necklace being too tight or too short. When this happens, I've found that now instead of having to find a new necklace for my outfit, all I have to do is pull out my necklace necessities ensemble and get that extra length I'm looking for!

I'm not sure who was more excited about reviewing the bracelet, me or Sam. When I got the bracelet in the mail, I was expecting it to be a little big for me (I have tiny wrists), but found it fit me perfectly! I got the neon orange bracelet, which is great because my favorite team is the Phoenix Suns (I know, how appropriate that I chose Shaquille O'Neal's quote about beating them). Right off the bat, Sam wanted to wear it and go play basketball with it on. I told him, that I had to try out the power balance bracelet first, and that I wanted to perform the tests for myself.

There are three main things that the power balance bracelet is supposed to help. The bracelet helps you with balance, strength, and flexibility. After performing all three tests for myself, I found myself a believer. It DID help with my balance, I FELT stronger, and I was even MORE flexible. Sam loves it so much, that from the time I took it off he's been wearing it. I also received this perfumed body moisturizer

This lotion is perfect for dry, clammy skin. Their perfumed body moisturizers are "100% vegan, wheat and gluten free, contain no glycol, parabens, sulfates, phthalates, silicones, synthetic additives or synthetic fragrances." It also smells amazing and feels like silk to my skin.

Are you more of a "bar of soap" person than body wash? Well, then this product is for you! This was my favorite thing I reviewed from Cleanlogic. I'd never heard of a soap + sponge before, but I'm so glad I have now. This bar of soap is so incredible! Not only does it work into a great lather and smell amazing, but it transforms into a sponge as well! It has the extra edge of being able to scrub off dead skin, that a regular bar of soap doesn't. Each bar also comes with it's own little case. If you haven't tried one of these before, I would recommend it. I received the cucumber melon and peach berry bars; both have amazing scents!

refresh body wash

Are you more of a body wash person? If so, then you'll want to try out this body wash. It lathered great on my dual textured scrubber and has just a hint of spearmint. With the help of nopal, this body wash will keep your skin looking young and wrinkle-free.

Now, before I talk about the last product I was sent, I want to share about how cool cleanlogic really is! They have created the Inspiration Foundation. What is the foundation about you might ask? Well, it is a non-profit organization with the goal to "empower and enable disabled individuals to become independent enough to live their lives to the fullest." To help achieve this goal, they have braille on their bottles. How awesome is that?!

Jungle Warefare: A Field Manual for Christian Sales Book Review

I really liked “Jungle Warfare” A basic field manual for Christians in sales by Christopher Cunningham. It is an easy read and if you’re someone with little time on your hands, you can take it day-by-day. Each day has a verse, a “battle plan”, daily prayer, and then a daily thought as well. The battle plan tends to go over your daily verse with you and share different aspects of sales with you. It shares about putting yourself in another’s shoes, preparing yourself for “battle” and trusting in your leader the whole time. Each thought is comprised of your thoughts on the daily verse and a question for two. At the end of each day, there is also a place for prayer requests. I liked this aspect because I could go back and see what prayer requests had already been answered! I also loved how this box intermixed between a “real” field manual and life how it is now. It is so amazing to see how the two intertwine. I would recommend this book for someone is a fan of devotionals and has an appreciation or interest for the military.

I've always been so jealous of people that can peel a fruit, potato, or vegetable with a peeling knife. I remember, when I was younger, watching my grandmother peel peaches with her "favorite" peeling knife and being so jealous that I couldn't. It's so "modern" and classy looking. I know, that's the last thing you'd think to be hearing about a peeler, but I'm someone who likes all of her utensils and kitchen supplies to look nice and sleek. I noticed too, that when I use a traditional peeler, the peels from the food sometimes get caught in the blade. When I used this ceramic peeler, the peelings didn't get caught. It's also very light and comfortable to use. My finger doesn't end up hurting when I'm done peeling!

What are the advantages of ceramic as opposed to a regular blade?

They say sharper, longer and are harder than steel
They will not rust and are very easy to clean

When you do wash this ceramic peeler, be sure to clean it in a sink with soapy water. Why? Because the motion from the dishwasher might damage the blade. Ceramic is very durable, but not flexible.

BlissLiving Home 2010 Holiday Collection Review and Giveaway

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love the lights on the houses, the snow on the ground, I even love the Christmas music!

I'm always on the hunt for stylish things for my house for the Christmas holiday. I love decorating for Christmas! (Like I said, I LOVE Christmas!)

I was so excited when I received my items from Blissliving Home and their 2010 Holiday Collection.

The first item I pulled out of my box was the beautiful JOY Throw Blanket

I wish I could describe for you the softness of the blanket! It is made of 100% rayon from bamboo. Now, I hadn't heard of rayon before, but with a little help from the dictionary, I learned it's also called "art silk", which is exactly how it feels. Its so silky smooth, has amazing bright colors, and feels so warm and comfortable. I was so impressed with this throw blanket that I brought it in to my co-workers to recommend!

The second and third items I received go "hand in hand" with each other.

The JOY-PEACE-WISH Pillow and Obi Band I received are equally as beautiful!

First of all, let me talk a little bit about the pillow. This pillow is so comfortable. Not only is it extremely stylish, but it's practical. It feels like it molds to your head when you're using it and is perfect for any chair, bed, or sofa. The pillow says "joy. peace. wish." not only in English, but in several other languages as well.

The Obi Band fits perfectly around the pillow, giving it some extra style. The band is made of 100% silk and is quality made. I received the green "peace." band pictured above. You can't see it in the photo, but the back of the band then says "happy holidays 2010" in the bottom corner. I love the way this pillow looks with the throw blanket. This review has quickly become one of my favorite things I've received!

Ecoland Inc. Review

Do you have those days when you just wish your house was transformed into a spa and you could relax?

Well, with the help of Ecoland Inc. and their amazing spa accessories, you can!

Ecoland Inc. was nice enough to send me some of their spa accessories for me to try out.

First, I was able to try their comfortable moisturizing socks.

I wore these socks the first day they came in the mail, and after a few hours, I took them off and noticed my feet were remarkably softer! I'm actually wearing the socks now while I write this review.

The second item I was able to try was the moisturizing gloves. I put these gloves on while I was watching a movie one night, and then forgot I even had them on because they felt so natural. When the movie was over and I was getting ready for bed, I took the gloves off, and my hands felt softer as well, just like the socks had made my feet feel.

The third item I tried was the organic cotton headband. I found this headband comes in handy so much when I go to wash my hair at night and even while I am brushing my teeth. It keeps those fly away hairs out of my face and any water. The headband is so soft as well and has the perfect hold!

The last two items I was able to try were the wash mittens.

This wash mitten has PE stripes that help remove any dead skin you have on your body. I love the way this mitten feels on my skin and how clean I feel after using it. The mitten is also soft and gets a great lather with body wash.

Best Bath Store Review

"Women.... Who made 'em? God must have been a... genius. Their hair. They say that the hair is everything, you know? Have you ever buried your nose in a mountain of curls, and just wanted to go to sleep forever? ~Bo Goldman"

I'm a HUGE fan of all things hair care. I love trying new shampoos, conditioners, and other essential hair care products. Because my hair is incredibly thick and usually uncontrollable, I'm constantly on the hunt for new products. When I received the opportunity to try out some products from the Best Bath Store, I asked to review their moisture rich shampoo and deep moisturizing hair conditioner.

When I used the shampoo, the first thing I noticed was the fresh smell of mint. The shampoo smelled amazing and clean. Because my hair is thick, I used a little more than just a dime sized amount, but once I had enough product on my hands it worked into a nice lather.

After I washed the moisture rich shampoo out of my hair, I opened the deep moisturizing hair conditioner and scooped out some of the conditioner. Let me say, right off the bat, that I was very impressed with the conditioner. It felt light as air, and stayed nicely in my hair. After I let it stay in my hair for the allotted time (15 minutes), I washed out the conditioner as well.

At first, I wasn't sure if I could tell a difference. But then as my hair dried, I noticed it felt remarkably softer and not nearly as frizzy as it usually is when it is air dried. Overall, I was very impressed. I also liked the fact that these products aren't animal tested and that the company believes in "Going Green".

One of the only things I would warn potential buyers about is that the fashionable labels that are on the containers aren't waterproof, so the ink on the label runs a little and might fall off (like mine did).

So, If you are like me and constantly searching for new and interesting hair products, you might want to give The Best Bath Store a try and see if you like it too!

I love having a quiet time in the morning to reflect back on the day before and see how I can make today better. I've always been a "high stress" person. I find myself constantly worrying about things that really have no importance at the end of the day.
